Ladyfest Newcastle is now over. Thanks to everyone who got involved - musicians, workshop faciliators and of course everyone who took part. We had a fantastic time and by the state of the Brain Dump Wall and the forum it seems everyone else did too!
In case you're wondering what it was all about... Ladyfest Newcastle was our chance to redress the balance of male-dominated music and arts festivals.
We wanted to show off some amazing female musical talent, from both the North East and across the UK. We wanted people to learn new skills in workshops - drumming, belly dancing, how to change the world with a zine. We wanted to spark new thinking and challenge perceptions of feminism.
Most of all, we wanted people to come away from the festival totally fired up about everything they've seen and heard, and start creating for themselves. Which, incidently, means that if you want to do another Ladyfest in the North East - or for that matter anywhere else - we'd be more than happy to help you! Just email us.
